Tour to Türkiye, Marrakech and the Great Desert

Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL / ISTANBUL

Welcome to Istanbul! Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel category. Accommodation

If you are arriving at Istanbul Airport (IST), our representative will be waiting for you outside at Gate 8. If you are arriving at Istanbul Airport (SAW) on the Asian side, our representative will be waiting for you, crossing the pedestrian walkway between column 9 and column 10.  

Day 2: ISTANBUL / BOSPHORUS WALK / SPICE BAZAAR (D)

Breakfast . Departure for one of Istanbul’s most famous activities: a boat trip on the Bosphorus , the strait that separates Europe and Asia. During this journey, you’ll see the palaces of the Sultans, traditional wooden houses, and experience history in a unique way. Next, we’ll visit one of the city’s highlights: the Spice Bazaar , established by the Ottomans five centuries ago and still in use today. Our included tour ends at the bazaar, where you can soak up its atmosphere and browse its diverse shops. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Asian side of the city, including lunch. We’ll visit Beylerbey Palace, located on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. This former summer residence of the Ottoman sultans will also give us a view of the famous suspension bridge. From the Bosphorus , which connects the European and Asian sides of the city, after lunch we will visit the underrated district of Üsküdar, located on the Asian side , before heading to Çamlıca Hill , one of the city’s seven hills and the highest point in Istanbul. At 268 meters above sea level, Çamlıca Hill offers panoramic views of both sides of the city. At the end of the day, return to the hotel. Overnight stay

Day 3: ISTANBUL / ANKARA (B – D)

Breakfast . Departure for Ankara , passing through the Bolu Mountains. Upon arrival, we will take a panoramic tour by coach of Ankara, the capital of the Turkish Republic and Turkey’s second most populous city , a modern and cosmopolitan city steeped in history and ancient culture. Visit to the Anıtkabir Mausoleum , a symbol of Ankara and the final resting place of the founder of the Turkish Republic . Late afternoon arrival at our hotel. Dinner. and Accommodation.

Day 4: ANKARA / CAPADOCIA (B – D)

Breakfast . Departure for Cappadocia. En route we will see Turkey’s second largest lake, Lake Tuz (Salt Lake) . and a 13th-century caravanserai (medieval inn) Arrival in Cappadocia. Optionally You can book a Jeep Safari tour of Cappadocia , one of the most exciting adventures in Cappadocia, allowing you to explore the region in an off-road vehicle and reach unique landscapes of rock formations and valleys. Dinner and accommodation included .

Day 5: CAPADOCIA (B – C)

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit this fascinating region with its unique landscape, formed by lava ejected from the Erciyes and Hasan volcanoes 3 million years ago. We will visit the Göreme Valley , an incredible Byzantine monastic complex comprised of churches carved into the rock and adorned with beautiful frescoes. Next, we will visit the Avcilar and Gövercinlik Valleys , where you can admire the best views of the volcanic formations known as “fairy chimneys.” We will also visit traditional carpet and onyx workshops . and Turquoise . Dinner and Accommodation.

Day 6: CAPADOCIA / FLIGHT / ISTANBUL (D)

Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport in Cappadocia for your domestic flight. Included with your trip to Istanbul. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. (Pick-up will be 3 hours before your domestic flight; the exact time will be confirmed by your assistant at your destination).

Day 7: ISTANBUL / SULEIMAN THE MAGNIFICENT (D)

Breakfast. Departure to visit the Süleymaniye Mosque , located on the third hill of Istanbul, offering one of the most famous panoramic views of the city. Commissioned by Sultan Süleymaniye the Magnificent, it was built by the renowned imperial architect Sinan. After the visit, a full day exploring the historical part of Istanbul, where you will see the Hagia Sophia (exterior only), a culmination of Byzantine art, and the pearl of Istanbul, the famous Topkapi Palace , residence of the Ottoman sultans for four centuries. Enjoy a typical lunch at a local restaurant in the Sultanahmet area . Admire the Blue Mosque , a marvel of harmony, proportion, and elegance; and the Hippodrome , which preserves the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpent Column, the Fountain of Emperor Wilhelm, and the Egyptian Obelisk. In the late afternoon, visit the famous Grand Bazaar , where you will have free time to explore its 4,000 shops. Overnight stay

Day 8: ISTANBUL/MARRAKECH (B/D)

Breakfast and at the indicated time, transfer to the airport to board your international flight (not included) to Marrakech. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel according to your category. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 9: MARRAKECH / CITY VISIT (B – D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour of Marrakech. The tour begins at the Menara Gardens , which feature a 12th-century pond . See the majestic Koutoubia Mosque minaret . Visit the Bahia Palace and a Berber pharmacy . The tour concludes at Jemaa el- Fna Square. Declared a World Heritage Site . Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10: MARRAKECH / QUARZAZATE / DADES (B – D)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure towards the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass . The road changes landscapes, from the vibrant green of the valleys to the ochre red of the Tizi n’Tichka pass , until we reach… Free time in Ouarzazate for lunch, then continue to Kelaa des M’Gouna , a famous village where a fragrant rose variety is cultivated, to explore the “Route of the Kasbahs .” This route, located in the southern High Atlas Mountains , is known as a series of fortresses . Built of adobe with crenellated towers and adorned with unbaked brick , they are sometimes veritable fortified villages . They are situated in a spectacular landscape where the desert meets the mountains, blending all shades of ochre and red. While the ancient Kasbahs captivate with their evocative power, the landscape moves visitors with its striking contrasts, luminosity, and profound silence. This route is one of the most attractive and popular in Morocco. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: DADES / TINGHIR / TODRA GORGES / ERFOUD / MERZOUGA (B – D)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Tinghir Here lies one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of the trip, the Todra Gorge . The Todra River , to overcome the mountain, has carved a narrow gorge through erosion, with vertical walls over 300 meters high —a paradise for climbers. We will venture into the heart of the gorge. We continue towards Erfoud . The road becomes increasingly challenging. The towns we pass through become more and more authentic. We enter the land of the desert people. We visit a fossil extraction center ; the amount of aquatic life that existed in this area during the Quaternary period is incredible. Upon arrival, we travel by 4×4 to the Merzouga Dunes . Free time, check-in at the camp or hostel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 12: MERZOUGA / HASSI LABIED / KHAMLIA / MERZOUGA (B – D)

After breakfast , we’ll begin our exploration of the Erg Chebbi dunes in a 4×4. This desert region is covered in sand, and we’ll travel along the old Dakar Rally tracks . We’ll discover how and where the local nomads live and share tea with a family . We’ll explore wild oases in the middle of nowhere, spectacular landscapes, small villages and desert settlements, and palm groves. We’ll stop in the village of Hassi. Labied , for a stroll through the palm grove and orchard . In this area, we can discover a brilliant example of irrigation using ditches and channels. Water from the Khetarra system . The inevitable visit to the village of Khamlia , of great historical and cultural importance, inhabited by slave ancestors originally from sub-Saharan Africa. Return to Merzouga by camel, climbing the dunes to contemplate the spectacle of the sunset . Dinner and overnight stay in Merzouga .

Day 13: MERZOUGA / MIDELT / IFRANE / FEZ (B – D)

Breakfast and departure for Fez. We will visit Rissani , a town with a vibrant and authentic souk , and travel through the Ziz Gorges and Valley . Continue to Fez. En route, we will cross the cedar forest of Azrou and visit the town of Ifrane , known as the ” Moroccan Switzerland” for its distinctive architecture and as one of the country’s most exclusive ski destinations . Arrival in Fez in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14: FEZ (B – D)

Breakfast at the hotel, then departure to discover Fez, the oldest imperial city in Morocco . Founded in 808, it was the kingdom’s capital several times. The labyrinthine streets of the well-preserved medieval city (called Fez el-Bali) are considered the largest car-free urban area in the world. It transports us to a completely different world. There are two other parts of the great city of Fez besides the medina: the 13th-century city (Fez el- Jedid ) and the Ville. Nouvelle (where the business center is located, with modern avenues, hotels, and restaurants). The most outstanding places in Fez are, without a doubt, the medina, The souks (markets), the tanneries, the Royal Palace , the Mellah (old Jewish quarter), and the oldest university in the world . Visit the Madrasa, a Koranic temple dating back to the Marinid era . We will also visit the exterior of the Karaouine Mosque and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, the city’s founder. The tour concludes with visits to various artisan workshops and bazaars in the old medina . Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15: FEZ / MEKNES / RABAT / CASABLANCA (B – D)

Breakfast at the hotel and travel to the city of Meknes . Panoramic tour of this Imperial city starting with its walls , with its magnificent gates such as: Bab el Mansur , the Agdal pond and Bab Square Lahdim . A brief tour along the city walls. Continue through fertile valleys to the imperial city of Rabat . Your panoramic tour begins with the exterior of the Royal Palace , “Dar el Makhzen .” Continue to the Mausoleum of Mohammed V , the Unfinished Mosque , and the Hassan Tower . Free time for lunch before departing for Casablanca . Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 16: CASABLANCA / AIRPORT (D)

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport. End of services.
