Itinerary
Day 1: MARRAKECH
Arrive at Marrakech International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Free time. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: MARRAKECH – CITY TOUR
Half board at the hotel. Half-day city tour of Marrakech: The visit begins at the Menara Gardens, featuring a 12th-century pond. See the majestic Koutoubia Minaret, visit the Bahia Palace, the Berber pharmacy, and the souks. The tour ends at Jemaa el-Fna Square, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight stay.
Day 3: MARRAKECH – OUARZAZATE – DADES
Breakfast at the hotel and departure towards the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass. The road unveils a shifting landscape — from lush green valleys to the red ochre of the Tizi Pass — until we reach Ouarzazate. Free time for lunch, then we continue to Kelaat M’Gouna, a charming town known for its aromatic rose cultivation. This is where we start the “Kasbah Route,” famous for its adobe fortresses with crenelated towers and raw brick decorations. These often fortified towns lie in stunning landscapes, between desert and mountains, blending all shades of ochre and red. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: DADES – TINGHIR – TODRA GORGES – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Tinghir, home to one of the most beautiful natural spots of the trip: the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved a narrow canyon through the mountains, with vertical walls over 300 meters high — a paradise for climbers. Continue to Erfoud through increasingly authentic and rugged terrain, reaching the territory of the desert people. Visit a fossil extraction center and then head by 4×4 to the Merzouga Dunes. Free time and accommodation in a desert camp or lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: MERZOUGA – HASSILABIED – KHAMLIA – MERZOUGA
After breakfast, begin a 4×4 excursion around the Erg Chebbi dunes, driving along old Dakar Rally routes. Visit nomadic families and share tea, explore remote oases, desert villages, and palm groves. Stop in Hassi Lbied for a walk through the oasis and orchards, observing an ancient irrigation system known as “khetarra.” Visit Khamlia, a historically and culturally significant village founded by descendants of black African slaves. Return to Merzouga by camel and climb the dunes to witness the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in the desert camp or lodge.
Day 6: MERZOUGA – MIDELT – IFRANE – FEZ
Breakfast and departure to Fez, with a stop in Rissani, known for its vibrant and authentic market. Cross the Ziz Valley and Gorges en route to Fez, passing through the cedar forest of Azrou. Visit Ifrane, often called the “Moroccan Switzerland” for its alpine-style houses and elite ski resorts. Arrival in Fez in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: FEZ
Breakfast at the hotel. Fez is the oldest imperial city in Morocco. Founded in 808, it has been the capital several times. Its preserved medieval city (Fez el-Bali) is the world’s largest car-free urban zone. Explore the souks, tanneries, Royal Palace, Mellah (old Jewish quarter), and the world’s oldest university. Visit the Merinid-era Quranic Madrasa, the Karaouine Mosque exteriors, and the tomb of Moulay Idriss, the city’s founder. Conclude with visits to artisan workshops and ancient bazaars. Free time. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8 – OPTION 1: FEZ – MEKNES – RABAT – CASABLANCA
Breakfast and travel to Meknes. Panoramic tour including its impressive walls and gates like Bab el-Mansour, the Agdal basin, and Bab Lahdim square. Continue through fertile valleys to Rabat for a panoramic tour including the Royal Palace, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the incomplete mosque, and the Hassan Tower. Free time for lunch and continue to Casablanca. Hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight stay.
