Traditional Mexico in 5 Days

Day 1: AIRPORT – MEXICO CITY

Starting Traditional Mexico: reception at the Mexico City “Benito Juárez” international airport, transfer to your chosen hotel and accommodation.

Day 2: BASILICA AND TEOTIHUACAN

Breakfast. Departure to visit TEOTIHUACAN (pre-Hispanic) and the SHRINE OF THE VIRGIN OF GUADALUPE (contemporary), icons of Mexican culture, representing the religious development of the Mexican people. We will begin by visiting the pre-Hispanic archaeological site of Tlatelolco, also known as the Plaza of the Three Cultures, with its colonial church, the Parish of Saint James the Apostle.

We will continue to Teotihuacán, the city of the gods according to Aztec myth, with over 2,500 years of history. Then we will enter the enigmatic archaeological site, visiting the temples of “Quetzalpapalotl” (butterfly-bird) and the “Feathered Shells Temple” and the Pyramid of the Moon, finally ending with the impressive Pyramid of the Sun. After our visit to the archaeological site, we will head to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we will return to Mexico City to visit the Shrine of Guadalupe, which is the largest religious sanctuary in Mexico, where the Tilma of San Juan Diego is kept, with the most venerated image in Mexico, the Virgin of Guadalupe, “Patron Saint of the Americas”.

Day 3: XOCHIMILCO

Breakfast. Departure to UNIVERSITY CITY, named a World Heritage Site in 2007, where we will appreciate Diego Rivera’s mural and continue to the Olympic Stadium for photos. We continue to XOCHIMILCO, place of flowers, where aboard colorful “trajineras” we navigate among flowery chinampas. The trumpets of the mariachis and the melodies of the trios (additional cost), give the tour a romantic touch.

Day 4: MEXICO CITY TOUR

Breakfast. We head to the HISTORIC CENTER, a World Heritage Site: Zócalo (City Hall, Cathedral, Presidential Palace), Plaza de Santo Domingo, Plaza Tolsá, Palacio de Bellas Artes… We will tour Paseo de la Reforma Avenue to the beginning of Chapultepec Park… We finish with a visit (two rooms) to the MUSEUM OF ANTHROPOLOGY, one of the three most important of its kind in the world. Possibility of staying at the Museum on your own. Return to hotels.
In the evening, dinner show at the family restaurant Lugar del Mariachi. Mexican Show, presenting Folkloric Ballet with traditional dances from different states of the Republic and ranchero music singers with the traditional musical framework of the mariachi.

Day 5: MEXICO CITY – AIRPORT

Ending Traditional Mexico: At the indicated time, we will transfer to the Mexico City airport. End of our services.
